The Education Chair is responsible for developing, coordinating and overseeing the organization's educational activities and related strategic relationships. This position works closely with the Board of Directors and other chair positions to fulfill the mission of the MMA. It involves a time commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week.

Outreach Chair
The Outreach Chair is responsible for developing, coordinating and overseeing all outreach activities to greater Minnesota, specifically in the cities of St. Cloud, Duluth, Mankato, Rochester and Winona. This is a newly created position and, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and other chair positions, will be responsible for extending the programs and activities of the MMA to the key cities. The position involves a time commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week.

Calling all Volunteers!
The MMA is starting to get busy and we could use your skills! If you're interested in helping the MMA help the Minnesota music community contact us now. We're not just talking the Twin Cities metro area either. If you or someone you know lives in Duluth, St. Cloud, Rochester, Mankato or Winona and would like to help support Minnesota music drop us a note! Some areas we could use some help include music promotions, graphic design, event booking and coordination, organizational administration or any other area you think you could help us out in. Please contact us at president@minnesotamusicacademy.org. Put "Volunteer" in the subject line and tell us a little about yourself, your interests and how you'd like to get involved.
Minnesota Music Academy Activities and Member Benefits
The Icebreaker Music Event is held every year around the time of the Awards show
to showcase that year's nominees at various music venues throughout the state.
MMA members receive free admission to all Icebreaker events and showcases.
Seminar Saturday is an all-day music education event that's held the Saturday
before the Awards ceremony each year. During this conference, experts from
various fields of music and music business will be on hand for educational panels
and seminars. This event is open to the public, but MMA members receive a discount
on the admission cost.
In addition to the seminars and workshops presented at the Icebreaker
Music Conference, the MMA presents and sponsors other educational seminars
throughout the year. Past workshops have included topics such as: Music
Publishing and Performing Rights, Getting Your Music on the Radio, Musicians
Legal Clinic, and Accounting 101 for Musicians.
The Minnesota Music Awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments
within the Minnesota music community each year. MMA members participate
in the award nomination and voting process,and receive discount or free admission
to the Awards Show which is held in accordance with The Icebreaker and Seminar Saturday.
In addition to educational events, The Icebreaker, Seminar Saturday and the Awards
Show ceremony, the MMA sponsors many other live music events throughout the year.
MMA members receive free or discounted admission to these.
The MMA is proud to present our merchant discount program where members can use
their membership card to receive discounts at various businesses and venues all
over Minnesota. Please check the "Friends of the MMA" page to get the latest
information on this money-saving program.
